YOUTH ART CONTEST -MUSIC, DANCE, ORATORY, VISUAL ARTS
RULES
- Contestants must check-in at the registration area no later than 9:00 a.m. (check-in will begin at 7:00 a.m))
- Contestants must be between the ages of 10 to 17. (Please bring proof of age)
- There will be 2 age categories - Junior Division from age 10 - 13 and Senior Division age 14 to 17.
- There will be 4 judging categories:1. Visual Art, 2. Oratory/Poetry 3. Music (Instrumental or Vocal) 4. Dance
- Only visual art will be required to be the artist'soriginal art work. Performance pieces are preferred to be the artist original work.
- Visual Art must be ready to be judged by 10:00 a.m.
- Performance Pieces must not exceed 10 minutes in length.
- Set-up and performance should not exceed 20 minutes, otherwise the artist will be disqualified from judging.
- Ensemble groups cannot exceed 10 members
- Multi-age groups must compete in the Senior Division if any member of the group is 14 or older.
- All Participants must have signed parental approval to participate.
- Contestants must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older.
Material about or relative to African American Culture preferred.
SR. DIVISION (each category) - GRAND PRIZE - $100.00 Cash Prize and Trophy
Jr Division (each category) - GRAND PRIZE - $25.00 Cash Prize
